Pakistan and Egypt Discuss US-Iran Talks Amid Regional Diplomatic Efforts

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and his Egyptian counterpart engaged in a phone call to discuss the latest regional developments and the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran. This conversation took place as Islamabad plays a mediating role in the interactions between Washington and Tehran.
According to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, spoke last night with Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, over the phone. The two sides focused on the current regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry’s statement noted that the two senior diplomats welcomed what they described as a “positive movement” within the framework of diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing regional peace and stability. They also expressed hope that the ongoing interactions between the United States and Iran would lead to an early and constructive outcome.
The ministers of foreign affairs from Pakistan and Egypt agreed to maintain close contact and continue consultations to follow up on developments and issues of common interest.
